This preaccelerator starts particles on their journey with a speed of 7400 miles per second with 0.75 MeV in Energy.
The particles then go to Linac (a linear accelerator) and their speeds increase to 84000 miles per second with an energy of 116 MeV, in the low energy accelerator.
This preaccelerator reminds me of the old simple vandographs we used to learn electrically charged particles.
Ooh that's neat! I will have to post some pictures from the FSU accelerator that I visited in May!
ReplyDeleteGreat! I am looking forward to seeing them!
